Space Jam 2 - $15-20 million (negative word of mouth may impact the opening weekend)
Escape Room: TOC - $5-10 million (At least Sony didn't constantly shift the release date of this one around!)

They did! Here's its release date changes:

April 17, 2020 >> December 30, 2020 >> January 1, 2021 >> TBD 2021 >> January 7, 2022 >> July 16, 2021

It almost escaped from the release schedule, but unfortunately we didn't get that lucky.

And length of the film it’s 2hrs+ previews vs the original which was a breeze at 90 minutes I’m guessing word of mouth will be blah add in streaming I’d say 25 max and that would be surprising

I'm checking random theatre showtimes and Space Jam 2 seems to be selling 2x the seats of Escape Room 2.

I'm not able to see Escape Room 2 until tomorrow (Saturday).. but my theatre already switched it with the smaller theatre Space Jam 2 was in... so now Space Jam 2 is in the bigger theatre I wanted to see Escape Room in.

I'm guessing they sold a lot of tickets tonight and decided to put it in a bigger theatre and Escape Room is underperforming.

On my break at Wally, and the Space Jam merch is not selling at all. Can't tell that anything's gone from any of the displays. Dud.

#EscapeRoom sequel opened at #3 at FRI #boxoffice with $3.8M and looks on its way to near $9M for the wknd. First pic was a surprise hit debuting to a $18.2M wknd in JAN 2019.

Solid debut for #SpaceJamANewLegacy which opened at #1 on FRI with $13.1M. Will try to lead the whole wknd #boxoffice too with a possible $31M or so. Also streaming at home on HBO Max at no extra cost. Poor reviews, but auds liking it with A- CinemaScore.

Escape Room was about half full or a bit more at 5pm yesterday but theater itself was packed. Seemed like a lot of the business was Space Jam.
