This is gorgeous artwork. Wish it could be Evangelion, though.

There will be eventually when it sells out. Elfen Lied's SteelBook came out in July 2019 and sold out in late 2020, and the non-SteelBook re-release came out this month. You could be waiting 1-2 years for a non-SteelBook edition.

Also a heads-up for anyone unaware, as this is a 5-disc SteelBook, there will be stacked discs as 5-6 disc Blu-ray SteelBooks are stackers.

^^ I'm fine with stacked discs in Blu. They are pretty robust and for the amount of times they will be utilized, I don't see an issue.

Now, dvds stacked, is a nightmare waiting to happen.

Stackpaks are mainly only an issue with DVDs which don't have a scratch-resistant coating. While annoying, they're not as much of a problem for Blu-rays thanks to the scratch-resistant surface, you pretty much have to go out of your way to intentionally scratch a Blu-ray to scratch it. It should be noted, scratches are far more destructive to Blu-rays than DVDs, and if a Blu-ray gets a deep enough scratch, game over, it can't be rebuffed unlike with DVDs.

Beautiful. Gonna pre-order for sure. I love that the slip cover art is the same as the booklet from the ADV Pluralitas Concentio. The steelbook art work is from the Japanese Blu-ray box, right?

Rah is my #3 all time favorite. My DVDs can't wait to be joined by the steel.

It's an early digitally painted show from 2002, so it will definitely be an upscale. It wasn't made with cels and shot on film like Cowboy Bebop or Evangelion.

This is a personal favorite of mine, I only probably every U.S. release, add the Japanese Bluray and now this. I think I might like this anime or something. 😆

Hey guys. Newbie to Best Buy bs here. Should I wait for a sale or pre-order out of FOMO? I did buy the Cowboy Bebop Steelbook, but this thing is expensive as hell for what you're getting. Also, should I buy on Best Buy or on Amazon? Which do you think might go on sale based on past experience? I'm watching the show right now to see if it's worth buying at all, and the music and art is so classy. Really enjoying it.

They definitely fooled me. Lots of inspiration from Cowboy Bebop. Hope they do a good job with the final quality.

The chances of this selling out this year are low, Elfen Lied's took an entire year to sell out, same goes for like The Big O. It'll be cheaper around Black Friday through the Sentai Filmworks Shop where it will have a significant discount like most of their catalog does every year. Like if you want to get an idea of how much it could go down, they currently have a sale right now, and these are recent SteelBooks from them.
