Germany Jason Goes to Hell / Jason X (Austria)

WB will release a double feature of Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) and Jason X (2001) in Austria on 6 September.

You could order it here at DTM.at.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but does anyone know any reliable retailer (besides DTM.at) that has this release, and ships to other European countries?
thanks

This has oddly come back into print at some point in the last 12 months - the new edition specifically states packaging + supplementals copyright as 2021, and features the new WB logo.

Assume it's still the R-rated cut of Jason Goes to Hell. I'd buy if it was the unrated.

Yeah, R rated. Picked this up earlier in the year.

Yeah, the only thing I really miss from the unrated cut is the great tent kill, but the rest of the stuff is mostly superfluous if you ask me, and I can definitely do without the more sleazy sex scene.

I bought it because I own the region b Paramount collection and it was a completionist thing. I’m not region free so couldn’t get the new boxset with the 3D version of part 3 (proper 3D)

It has come back into print because JASON X finally was taken off the index in Germany in late 2020. Like all the previous Friday movies it now can be sold without restrictions in any store and online.

Getting titles off the index (prior to an automatic removal after 25 years) costs a lot of money, so labels who invest in this will of course try to make their investments back by re-releasing those titles to the broad market.

How were they able to sell the previous 2013 disc? I remember noticing that seemed to have no rating on the cover, so does Germany have some kind of limited 'unrated' program?

Selling titles that are on the indey is not prohibited in Germany. But there are severe restrictions. They must not be advertised, they must not be on open display in store shelves unless only adults have access to the store, and when sold online it must be made absolutely sure that no minor can get access to them (age control on registration to the shops and on delivery etc.).

Films that are on the index also must not be shown uncut on TV, irrespective of the time they are shown.

I was wondering about the online sale thing especially, because I can remember trying to buy the original 2013 edition of this years back and whatever site I tried to get it through specifically told me they refused to send copies of it internationally for "ratings reasons" but that was all I got from the cancellation email.

Interesting stuff.

Interesting stuff.
itīs a really stupid and typical german bureaucratic thingy...
to this day amazon.de sends ANYTHING rated 18 (or any import titles WITHOUT german rating, even Disneys Bambi or similar) with ID CHECK postage...
meaning it canīt be delivered to PO boxes or postcenters... nobody but you can sign for it... and you have to show your photo ID card and they write down your card number into their scan thingies.. if you canīt provide that, or itīs expired or the label might not have your middle name ..
YOU WILL NOT GET IT and it gets send back...

my mom has that problem so she now uses all 3 names because depending which delivery guy... they just wonīt deliver if it doesnīt have all names...
but all 3 names + family name is TOO MANY LETTERS for the scanner and that wonīt work AT ALL..

great stuff and a lot of fun for grown ups getting really dangerous movies and series like Sons of Anarchy and UK SteelBook of Cinderella
