Default K-19: The Widowmaker 4K UHD

A fantastic movie with Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson. I would like to see it in 4K UHD.

Eh being honest I would rather U-571 to come to UHD first before this! A much more format worthy sub movie.

Eh being honest, I would rather Das Boot before either!

To be honest, I would rather get Crimson Tide before all those.

U-571 before K-19. It's demo material and would benefit greatly from a 4K master with Atmos, not to mention it would sell with die-hard war movie fans. Das Boot is definitely coming at some point, but there's been no whispers of a 40th Anniversary release or new restoration.

Oh my goodness, the DTS master audio on U-571 is already tremendous, and I can image what a Dolby Atmos mix would sound like. It will blow the house down. Since U-571 is a Universal movie and the majority of their 4K UHD releases are DTS:X, U-571 will most likely will be in DTS:X as well instead of Atmos.

Although I wouldn't call it "fantastic," I'd definitely pick it up over the titles other people are suggesting.

If you want to see other movies released, make a thread for them and stop crapping all over this one.

For mine no one was "crapping on" K-19. It's a fine movie. These all are. I think the argument is what would one personally would like to see on 4K UHD first? Making another thread right afterwards to show that seems excessive; and something you'd likely comment on as well.

No. I don't go into threads about movies I don't care about. I'd like K-19 and none of the others.

The thread title isn't "let's talk about submarine movies in 4k." It's specifically about this movie.

Keep strawmanning. Keep thinking in literal black and white. I said I find all of them good. I don't go into threads and lecture people about what they should get to say. That's a better yardstick for how to conduct oneself than assume yourself the forum police.

There's no such thing as a poor submarine movie

I'd purchase every film mentioned in this thread so far (Crimson Tide, U571, Das Boot) and would definitely pick-up 'K-19 The Widowmaker'. Very effective and powerful movie (although Ford's accent can be 'distracting').
