"Open Season" Blue rayaudio issues on PS3 - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone any idea why the blue ray dvd of Open season only plays in stereo on a PS3 connected by optical cable to a 5.1 amp with all speakers . its says british 5.1 on the sleeve

Mine does 5.1 just fine.

Probably because you've set the audio out to PCM (optical can only do 2.0 PCM). Try the bitstream setting and select the Dolby Digital stream. That should give you 5.1. To get 5.1 PCM with the PS3, you need to send audio over hdmi.
