A couple of weeks back I did some re-watching of these with the family. I personally prefer the first one, but At Worlds End is solid as well. Ultimately I went with the first.

OG Pirates. Black Pearl and Dead Man's Chest ended up being my first movies on Blu-ray and they looked so freaking good and sounded incredible in PCM.

Black Pearl would probably be the best, but the first three are all fairly close, and a great trilogy.

On Stranger Tides is mostly meh.

Dead Men Tell More Tales is in between. Has issues, but still feels more like a followup to the first three, and even gave 4 some purpose.

Did a rewatch of the whole series a couple of weeks ago had not seen some of them in a while. Still think that The Curse of the Black Pearl is the best of the bunch.

Agreed. Too bad that the first one was such a nice surprise and then the rest got progressively worse and worse. Very much like the Transformers franchise or at least the same idea. I don’t even watch the POTC films anymore. I have the first three on Blu-ray. Great looking and spending discs though, for sure.
