I know it's said all the time, but one of the best Christmas films ever made. I have the current Blu and the transfer is excellent, but there's no extras. If this new release has some extras I may upgrade.

It's a good thing I didn't purchase the existing release! The lack of extras always puzzled me, considering it's such a famous film, and the inclusion of the colour version didn't really count as a significant extra.

It just occurred to me that it'll probably be very similar to the Gift Set that is released in the US soon. Shame.

It does get re-released every year, and usually it's exactly the same release as the previous year In fact Amazon have plenty in stock now! I already have this and the Blu-ray transfer is great.

Nice poster and artcards, hopefully they aren't the only differences between this and the original release.

I've actually never owned this movie, just because there was no release really definitive enough, compared to say some other Capra titles (like the good job Sony did on their releases.)

What I'm really hoping for is an improvement on extras this time, hopefully the previous DVD extras are ported, hopefuly some new video/commentary content, and possibly lossless sound....

What 4:3 problem? If the fact that its in 4:3 then that's not a problem, you should invest in a blu player with zoom if you have a problem with content which doesn't fill your widescreen TV.

Ignore the rant if you were just noting a flaw with the transfer.

Does anyone know if there are indeed any extras or documentaries on the disc?

I've had a quick look online but can't find any details.

I got my copy today, the only bonus feature is the theatrical trailer but I already have the "making of" on disc, so I'm not that bothered about the lack of bonus features.
Overall it's a nice Blu-ray and will be a good stocking filler

Looks like it has lossless audio, too, which is a bonus.

Do you know if this is meant to be an improvement over the previous release? Has it had a new restoration or something?

Anyone compared the lossless track on this to the US Paramount release?

It may have HD audio, but loses the trivia track, disc seems to be region locked now, and still doesn't port the old DVD making ofs.

Yet again, no purchase for me...
