Whaaaaat???

Not on a bd-r from a "choice" collection?
Proud of Uni for releasing this themselves, unlike the Lily Tomlin film they shopped out.
Pray they do a nice job, expectations tempered...

Bring on more of Martin's comedies, comedy is so severely underrepresented on self-released major studio catalog releases anymore.

Holy crap.

I legitimately thought this would never happen. Sometimes, being wrong is awesome.

Why would it be on a BD-R in the "Choice Collection"? That's Sony, not Universal.

Rachel Ward is a beautiful noir dame.

A number of these Universal catalogue titles have recently come out in the UK thru Fabulous Films.

Universal release lots of catalogue titles and they also licence several to Shout, they're one of the best studios when it comes to bluray.

Watched this a few weeks ago, and Rachel Ward is absolutely STUNNING in this film. My wife even said in passing when she came into the room, "Who's that? She's very pretty."

Shame the film itself wasn't very funny.

Yeah, that was sarcasm pointed right at Sony.

In the next sentence I congratulated Uni.

I wish L.A. Story was Universal so we could get that too. I hope Sgt. Bilko is coming though!

The only reason I've avoided watching it for so many years is because I didn't want it to spoil so many noir films for me. My body is ready now.

If you actually bothered to quote (or even read) the rest of my post you'd see where I qualified my statement by pointing out that they release and / or licence tons of catalogue titles or did you fail to notice the 8-10 new threads that have been created for the August and September releases? What other major studio actually releases that much these days?

I'm kinda partial to "My Blue Heaven". I would love to see that get a solid release.

In terms of quantity vs quality, they are an abject failure. The 1% of the time that they actually put out a transfer that looks like they scanned during this century cannot make up for the mountains of disappointing PQ that they have crapped out over the years.

Thanks for your input dear, but if you go back and read the original comment and my response to it, it had everything to with quantity. Universal are one of the best when it actually comes to getting their titles out their on bluray. If you and someone else want to discuss picture quality you can go in your own little corner and do that.
