Literally the only thing in the entire State of Play that caught my eye. I like the general look and the gameplay seems intriguing from what we saw. Hopefully it turns out good when we see more.

If you can really fight giant Shadow of the Colossus type bosses in the game, that could be fun.

Game looks great graphically and the next Stellar Blade probably.

Was this game made by former devs of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow? Because it felt like what that game's sequel should've been.

Voice work is a bit rough but the rest looks quite good.

After seeing some positive responses to this I was excited to check out the trailer. To me it looks like they put a half-dozen games in an AI blender and this is what poured out. It does look slick, but really derivative.

Great art and graphics, animation.
As far as gameplay, it is more of the same but with a new adventure versus enemies and then the big, overpowered difficult bosses, continuing that trend as Stellar Blade did too.

The game looks ****in great! I get the amalgamation of different games but I don't get the "AI" reference. I guess AI is going to be the new catch all term when describing something as a pejorative.

That's true. For many years with something like this I would say that it looked like it was created by an algorithm, but now it just feels more appropriate to blame AI. I'm not sure if there is a single word that really captures the idea of "slick blandness", but that's what I feel when I see a game like this one. There's just something about it that feels so manufactured and soulless.

Do we know what engine this game is using?

According to the gameplay preview it's using "In-Game Engine"

Actually, I used to describe a lot of PC games like this a long time ago. I never said "slick blandness" but I think that's how I thought about a lot of PC games back in the day. I would see certain games and I would say it had that "sterile PC look" to it. Like they looked too clean or too crisp.

Sony will probably acquire this studio or distribute this title for them as 1st party, even being shown on Sony's State of Play. I think they're better off staying independent. Don't get bought out by these big studios as they like to acquire and then dissolve studios when money isn't rolling in at all times.

It’s a Chinese developer, they are more likely to be gobbled up by Tencent. Assuming they don’t already own them.

Looks like Tencent is already involved, although I don't see a source in the article.

I hope this is more DMC than dark souls. I’m burnt out on every action game having to be a soulslike.

I suspect it leans more towards DMC than DS. At least that's the vibe I get from the gameplay reveal trailer. If it's at least like Castlevania: Lords of Shadow or Stellar Blade I'll be satisfied. If it's like Dark Souls or its ilk, I'll pass.
