Default Children of the Corn Series: 4-Movie Collection Blu-ray

Just came across this & never heard about this before as i watched only the original 1st one.
Is this blu-ray set worth adding to our collection if horror fan?

DTV sequels, 3 and 4 are fun enough but milage may vary with 5 and 6.

3 got a better release from Arrow in the UK but it's region locked. The 4 movie collection is the only way to get 4 on Blu-Ray thoughl.

With multiple labels licensing Miramax titles from Paramount, it might be best to hold off buying the sequels right now. The current US Blu-rays aren't that great.

The best outcome (because they have deals with Lakeshore/RLJ and Miramax/Paramount) is for Arrow to release a box set with all the films included. The only thing they would need to do is work something out with Lionsgate (who own Genesis and Runaway via Weinstein/Lantern).

On the subject of the films themselves (not the quality of the transfers), I'll say that III is fun in a very campy way, though it's pretty ridiculous. It's worth watching at least once.

The other three films are pretty rough, Naomi Watts' and Karen Black's presence in the fourth film notwithstanding, and very low budget. Miramax rushed out these films as cheaply and quickly as possible to retain the license (allegedly), and there are no overlooked classics here.

Absolutely not. These are just cheapie repacks of old Echo Bridge discs. They’re not getting slips.

so both Lionsgate (old) and paramount (new) are exactly the same?
or, which one is a better buy?

They are both exactly the same discs... just in (barely) modified cover wraps with (barely) modified disc labels. The disc contents are 100% identical to the point that neither the Lionsgate nor Paramount logo actually appears anywhere in the disc contents.

They literally re-pressed the horrifically compressed 4-films-on-one-disc from bargain bin-label Echo Bridge. Buy either of these discs (or any other Paramount/Lionsgate Miramax combo discs) and I guarantee you it'll open with an Echo Bridge logo.

ah Thank you. very clear now.
Just realized this box set only contains 3, 4, etc. and missing II.
I already have original one in 4K. So what are my best options if i want to blurays from part 2 onwards?

In the US? There is no domestic BD of the second film... and for the rest of them, that multi-feature disc (it's not even a box set. It's all four films crammed onto one disc) is your only option that's still in print.

For 2, you'll have to import, unfortunately.

The UK release is the one to get for the 2nd one especially as it includes 3 versions.
