LOST season 1 & 2 ready for Blu? - Blu-ray Forum

Watching season 3 on blu-ray (insane btw) there are clips of the first two seasons "previously on Lost" and the scenes are in HD, could Disney already have season 1 and 2 blu-rayed ready for the greenlight to release?

Lost has been mastered in HD from the beginning, they sourced the clips from those masters in the edit bay while making the show

While I'm certain that's possible, it's far mor likely that the episodes opening includes the "previously" part. I'm prettey sure smallville also shows scenes from the previous season in the 6th seasons opening.

the reason that 1 and 2 arent out is the reason im not picking up season 3 of Lost

i hate jumping into things i dont know whats happening...i seen a few eps of this on 1080i broadcast....

liked this show anyway...

Hopefully if season 3 sells well, they will bring out the first 2.

I'm half tempted to get Lost in support of BVHE having released it... but I'm also of the mind that I'd prefer to have the nice complete series blu boxed set that's due in 2011... which will also probably be when I have time to re-watch.

everyone I highly recommend buying Lost season 3 on Blu-ray, Disney did a superb job, 10 out of 10. Packaging is great, the video quality is as great as POTC At World's End, and its a great show. I think Disney is waiting to see if these sell well, so if you buy it you just might give Disney a reason to release the first two. And if you haven't watched the series, pick up the first two on DVD.

I know that none of you can confirm this, but what do you guys think are the chances of Lost S1 & S2 ever being released on Blu-Ray?

Agreed.
However, I suspect the when might be as follows:
Season 1
Season 4
Season 2
Season 5
Season 6

of course that's not a when exactly. Since I don't have any idea how they'll deal with season 4, I'm not remotely clear on what the dates would be.

Season 3 has sold extremely well so I expect they are working on them as we speak, but being 23 hours each of new HD transfers to 1080p (not sure if they already did that before the DVD releases) it will be some time. I don't mind them taking their time and getting it just right. The quality of the show is amazing and they set the bar high with season 3.
