Probably the one out of today's announcements that I'll pick up. Haven't watched it in years, and I don't think it's ever had a North American release on DVD.

Finally, I will be able to watch Teorema in glorious HD! Two queer films in the same month? Criterion you've outdone yourself.

The cover looks like a test print for a Flicker Alley release.

Dang! I should have waited a bit longer for this one. Bought the UK release a month ago. Definitely double dip.

It has been released on DVD by KL, actually.

4k restoration for Pasolini's masterpiece! Great!
Still waiting for "Mamma Roma" to arrive on blu ray anywhere and maybe a new scan for "The Gospel According To Mathew".

The BFI disc already looked pretty darn good. Will be interesting to see if this improves at all on that. No doubt the color timing will be different somehow.

The Criterion looks blown-out.

I feel like it's the UK's heavily contrasted transfer that makes the Criterion one look very bright in comparison. When I look at the Criterion transfer alone it looks fine to me. It looks much better than the UK disc in my opinion. The BFI transfer almost resembles a DVD transfer in comparison. Clearly more detail, and better balance. No idea if it's grading is more accurate though.

Isn’t it the BFI transfer that has blown out whites and crushed blacks?

I wonder if Criterion or another label will upgrade this to 4K in the near future. Has there been any hints lately?
