Never noticed grain in the movie theater?
Grain is inherent in media that is captured on film.
It can be decreased when transferring it to digital, but doing so decreases detail in the picture.

Underworld, The fifth Element, Underworld Evolution, AVP. All pretty clean prints and grain free as you will ever see.

I eat grain for breakfast.
