Released by Vinegar Syndrome on Oct 25, 2022
Strange events have been going on in the small Louisiana town of Marsh Island. Local residents are shocked when the body of a young woman is discovered mutilated in a nearby swamp. Sheriff Aaron Whitaker is convinced he is dealing with a murderer like any other, however some of the more superstitious locals think there may be a supernatural explanation. As more bodies begin turning up, it becomes evident that the Sheriff may in fact be hunting a mythological creature known as a lycanthrope, or in other words, a werewolf! With the help of a prominent socialite named Lousie, Sheriff Whitaker must uncover the identity of whomever or whatever is responsible for the killings before the next full moon claims another victim. A brooding, made for television werewolf chiller from director Daniel Petrie (Fort Apache the Bronx), MOON OF THE WOLF stars David Janssen (TV's The Fugitive), Barbara Rush (It Came From Outer Space), Bradford Dillman (Escape From the Planet of the Apes), John Beradino (TV's General Hospital), and Geoffrey Lewis (The Devil's Rejects). Shot entirely on location in rural Louisiana, which adds an air of bayou authenticity, Vinegar Syndrome Archive presents this standout piece of movie-of-the-week horror on Blu-ray for the first time, newly restored from its 35mm interpositive and featuring a freshly recorded interview with its editor, Richard Halsey. Special Features and Technical Specs: NEW 2K RESTORATION FROM AN INTERPOSITIVE "Cutting Moon" - an interview with editor Richard Halsey Historical commentary track with film historians and authors Amanda Reyes and Daniel R. Bought this recently and can't wait to watch it. Just rewatched the two Kolchak movies (and am now currently watching the Kolchak tv show for the first time, what a show!) so this should be perfect for me. I was surprised to see it had a hard slipcover, more akin to the two separate releases of Demons 1 and 2 from Arrow in the UK. Pretty nice.

Very good to hear. The only copy I own is an old DVD compilation 70s creature feature set that has a lot of great movies that look like hell. This will be an excellent upgrade.

Finally watched it for the first time. My wife and kids were asleep and this was the first time alone I've had in weeks, perfect for this. I turned off the lights and watched an hour (out of an hour and 15 min) and then my youngest one (1 year old) woke up screaming for a full hour. Let's just say i didn't get to enjoy the last 15 min as I wished I could have but still, I thought this was a great tv movie.
Loved the setting (Louisiana), the cast and the story. The jail attack was pretty great too. Only two things disappointed, the wolfman design (which was a bit better than I anticipated after seeing a few pics online) and spoilers: the sheriff never confronting the monster at the end. He is the eyes of the movie and pretty damn cool too. Only to be randomly sidestep at the end for the wolfman's sister to become the protagonist out of nowhere. I probably wouldn't have minded as much I guess if I didn't have a screaming 1 year old in my arms watching the ending. :P |

I was just checking quantity available for this title. There are supposedly 4670 remaining. Unless this is a site error that means they've only sold 330 copies. Doesn't seem possible.

I'd completely forgotten about this release. I'll pick up a copy in January when the store reopens. along with the Black Friday slate. |

I forgot too. With all of these sales going on all over the place, it’s hard to keep track of all of the newer releases. It’s a fun little tv horror film though. Nothing to ride home about of course, but fairly entertaining nonetheless.

wrote Progeny of the Adder which morphed, by routes meandering and circuitous, into Dan Curtis' The Night Stalker (1971). I quite like the telefilm but the novel is a trip. |

Well make that two titles still the second smallest amount of titles I’ve picked up from Vinegar Syndrome since only getting The Keep in November.
The titles on sale this month, and I plan on picking it up this weekend. |
