Default Favorite Film Soundtracks?

otherwise know as "music scores" but i didn't want the title to confuse people

so what are some of your favorite film soundtracks?

i personally prefer soundtracks that aren't just random songs. for as much as i love the Garden State and Vanilla Sky soundtracks, they are all songs by actual bands / artists. i prefer soundtracks that are just music.

but any soundtracks are allowed here of course

some of my favorites (no order):

Requiem for a Dream
Donnie Darko
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Fountain
Black Swan (although i try not to listen to this until i've seen the film however)
Punch Drunk Love
Into the Wild
Moon

ironically enough Fight Club is my favorite movie, and i bought the soundtrack years ago, but rarely listen to it. it's great in the film, but by itself i never have the urge to listen to it.

your favorites?

I love mostly the hip hop soundtracks like Juice,Menace II Society, 8Mile,etc but the two I really like lately are Inception and The Social Network. Those are great soundtracks.

The Matrix is pretty ggod as is Judgment Night. But my favorite and quite possibly the best use of music ever is, The Devil's Rejects. Period. IMHO

I think my favorite soundtrack ever is Pulp Fiction.

Of course, I have to give props to Detroit Rock City.

And of course, Star Wars.

I've been on a real soundtrack kick lately. My favorite composers include John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, John Carpenter, Ennio Morricone, Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer & Danny Elfman.

Some of my favorties are:

E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial
Star Wars: Original Trilogy
Indiana Jones series (Temple of Doom is a seriously underrated score)
Jurassic Park
Harry Potter series
Edward Scissorhands
Batman ('89)
Conan the Barbarian
Legend (Jerry Goldsmith)
Dances with Wolves
The Dark Crystal
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Halloween
Poltergeist
Suspiria

and on and on...

im confused, is this soundtracks or soundtracks and scores?? i see people putting both.*
my personal favorite soundtrack is Lost Highway. Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Lou Reed, Smashing Pumpkins, probably other good tracks im not remembering right now.
The Crow was a good one too.
Scorsese always has good soundtracks (Mean Streets, Goodfellas, Casino).
same with Tarantino.

*edit: whoops i just read the op after posting this.

for scores my favorites are:
Suspiria
Terminator
Predator
Vertigo
anything Goblin, Bernard Herrmann, Tangerine Dream, John Carpenter, Ennio Morricone, Angelo Badalamenti, Howard Shore, Pino Donaggio, Stelvio Cipriani etc etc

Got that one. Sadly This Cd does not contain one of my favourite soundtracks. The track to the cult's lair with the big snake at the bottom. Used to listen to this one over many times. But it does contain "Orgy". One I liked equally .
