Default True Blood Series Discussion *Use Spoiler Tags*

I noticed there wasn't a thread for True Blood here so I figured I'd get one started....

Synopsis
True Blood is an American television drama series created and produced by Alan Ball. It is based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries series of novels by Charlaine Harris, detailing the co-existence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a fictional, small town in northwestern Louisiana. The series centers on the adventures of Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress with an otherworldly quality.

The Show is currently running it's 6 season and the finale airs next Sunday at 9 on HBO (8/18/2013)

(Please use spoiler tags when appropriate)

I'm not the biggest fan of this series, but I am looking forward to the season 7 premier tonight.

That thread is 4 years old and thousands of posts long and is labeled season 4. I think it's pretty ridiculous that some of the threads here get that ridiculously long and don't get renamed if the discussion continues to future seasons. Why would I want to read a thread labeled season 4 when tonight is season 7?

I've enjoyed it but like Boardwalk, it has been a series of missed opportunities.

Season 6 was much better than 5. That was the worst season.

This show is always trashy fun. But, season 5 was dull.

Can we merge the two threads please?

All I got is my favorite part is when the season 1 episode ended with this song being played:

I don't agree with the use of spoiler tags in a series discussion thread. The entire thread just becomes one big spoiler tag. If you haven't seen the latest episode, then you have no business being in the thread... but I'll use them out of courtesy.

I think that was the worst premiere in the series' history. I don't buy that
[Show spoiler]Tara
is dead. Off-camera death = not really dead. I may not even last the full 10 episodes if they drag the
[Show spoiler]"Where's Eric?"
storyline out beyond a couple of episodes. It's really bad. And I love the show.

According to some reviewers, we see
[Show spoiler]Eric
at the end of episode 2.

I agree and Lafayette's speech on
[Show spoiler]How he mourned for her first death and now not so much kinda felt like an indicator that she will be back, I find it odd that they show her death the first time only to keep this one off screen?

Unless of course
[Show spoiler]Her mother was full of Hep V and that was the reason she was so eager to feed her

I kind of liked the episode. Seems like it's getting back on track a little bit. I agree that the
[Show spoiler]Eric
storyline could get tiresome very quickly. Seems like the first time in a long time that
[Show spoiler]Sookie actually used her telpathy, even if inadvertently. Hopefully, they will continue that as she helps them find their missing friends.

Some things I'd like to see this season:
Barry Horowitz - the bellboy telepath from Dallas(perhaps with non-HepV vamps lead by Stan Davis or Freyda)
Hadley and Hunter
Cataliades, Diantha, and Gladiola
Sam finally going into "Lion" mode(why hasn't this happened yet?!?)

The last one is the only one that I think stands a chance of happening. With
[Show spoiler]Sam's pregnant girlfriend being kidnapped,
they could exploit his abilities this season(bloodhound to sniff out their scent, etc.)

Not convinced
[Show spoiler]Tara
is dead, but if that's the case, X deserved so much better than that!

I dunno. I thought the show had gotten back on track last season after the completely-off-the-rails previous season. But with this episode, it felt like they were going back off the rails.

It felt like they were cramming too much into the episode, and at the same time dragging each scene out longer than it needed to be. I found myself not being interested in just about anything going on, except for the bits with Jessica, and even they felt dragged out.

If not for the fact that this is the final season, I'd probably just give up on it now. But then, if not for the fact that this is the final season, I probably wouldn't have watched this episode.

At the very least he appears in the description of episode 3
[Show spoiler]"Sookie hatches a dangerous plan; Pam looks to motivate Eric."
, so prob right that we will start seeing
[Show spoiler]him
at the end of epi 2.

----------------

With only 10 episodes this season should cut the randomness and this episode was all over the place, just very horrible writing. Even the sex scene was poorly done. Take for example
[Show spoiler]hep vamps go all the way to erics' bar which is very far but they are supposed to be weak and dying yet they travel big distances and chain people for another day of eating… Another one, hep v vampires managing to defeat and even kill strong and healthy vampires easily…etc

From memory Barry the bellboy is trapped in Queen Mab fairyland and can't come back because he ate the fruit?

This season needs more GINGER obvs.

edit. Also Hadley and Hunter died when Warlow cleaned out the fairy cabaret?

Eric has always been my favorite character, hopefully his story line is interesting. There is no way
[Show spoiler]Tara
is dead. They would have given said character a bigger send off. I'd be pleased if they were though, that character has always annoyed the crap out of me.

They said last season that they had left shortly after Sookie and Jason did at the end of season five, IIRC.

Everyone loves Eric, and the showrunners would have to be fools to not know by now that he is the most popular character on the show. Which is why it would be especially moronic not to get him back involved for the final season asap.
