A couple of days ago I found at my local Goodwill....

The Wind Rises - $2.99

My first ever Studio Ghibli title. It was like brand new complete with Blu-ray/DVD and still good DMR code along with Slipcover.

best thing I ever found at a goodwill store was the carol Burnett, time life exclusive dvd box for $3.99
included everything but the 1st disc. List price and what it sells for on amazon is around $80 to $100

I overpaid for my Willow BD from goodwill ebay, 40 bucks. But I made up for it by getting an American Girl doll for 20 some, when those normally go for 65-100 (depending on condition). Just had to do a little surgery and cleaning on the doll, which I was happy to do.

Not a blu-ray but a friend recently found the 4-disc Dawn of the Dead Ultimate Edition for $3. Still had the booklet/comic book. Slipcase was a little banged up but still a solid score.

Went to Savers today, I usually won't buy used stuff unless it's a spectacular deal. I typically stop by to look for any cool speakers and factory sealed BDs. I probably have only 2 used titles in my entire collection. Today, I found this Nolan collection unsealed yet the discs were pristine and everything inside felt completely untouched. $7.99

Then I found this factory sealed (no slip) Cinderella, Disney Rewards intact. $2.99!

I wouldn't have much of a collection if I didn't buy used. I'd say that 75% of my collection was got at places like ebay, Goodwill & my local Pawn shop.

Nice find! Too bad the transfer stinks on Cinderella.

Does it? Why, lack of grain? If so, I actually prefer animation to look like a hand-painted cel than a film print if possible. I consider that the artist's original intent. Film was just used as a medium to try to convey that look as best as possible.

No, not grain. The DNR program removed sparkles it thought was grain, changed some colors to match merchandising (the dress is blue instead of white/gray), arms lost lines, etc.

This thread is long overdue.

My most recent Goodwill score...

- Ninja's Creed is an ex-rental with a sticker around the disc. Still a fun find though, especially with ex-WWE wrestler Gail Kim, and Pat Morita's final role. (ignore the price sticker on the case - I obviously didn't, and wouldn't, pay that much.)

- DNA is new and sealed.

- The slipcover for The Endless worn, but it appears to be new and sealed otherwise.

Was at two different Goodwill stores and found these across both.

GOT S2 was $9.99, Grace was $3.99, Traitor, Youth in Revolt and the three CDs were $1.99 each.

I was shocked to find these at Goodwill. All new and sealed, and I don't think any of them are sold in stores (except for the Kevin Smith DVD, obviously, which wasn't new/sealed and has been sold in stores).

I can now add 3 laserdiscs to my collection: the special editions of Pinocchio, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty, obtained from a Goodwill auction.

...Except I don't have a LD player.

Back in 2005 I bought the Buffy The Vampire Chosen collection for $140 new. Absolutely don't regret it. Still one of my favorite purchases ever, and have watched it straight through several times (in fact did so again this year).

Yesterday, while at the Salvation Army, I found this beauty for $10 in mint condition. The Angel Limited Series Box set. Stoked to have the matching Angel set, and I know what I'll be watching this Winter.

I already have the individual seasons of Angel on DVD but I still would have double dipped on that. Great find!

On my most recent trip to my local thrift shop I managed to find The Green Mile and Young Guns (with slipcover) still sealed on DVD. Paid a buck a piece and I was more than happy with that. Already had Green Mile but figured a backup copy wouldn't hurt.

I just recently discovered Goodwill and thrift stores for movies. I found the odd couple for $3.99, Kung Fu Panda 2, $1.99 on my list trip.
