I’m really hoping this is the last one.
I keep buying these for completion sake, but I was burned out a few movies ago. I couldn’t even finish the last one. |

They should have ended it after Furious 7. That was the perfect send off for Paul Walker and the franchise.

Batman should've also ended after The Dark Knight to preserve and honor Heath Ledger's legacy. Furious 7 made $1.5 billion. Would've been the worst business decision in recent memory to "end it" then. |

The ROI isn’t where it used to be a few films ago. If this doesn’t crack a billion, Fast 11 is where it all ends. |

So you are comparing the Marvel movies to the Fast & Furious movies? Last time I checked Marvel has a lot of different superhero characters to play around with compared to the Fast & Furious characters. Also the Nolan Batman movies were always going to be a trilogy. Way different than having a 10th and 11th Fast & Furious movie.

But, I mean, why not? If his reasoning is that it was the "best ending" or the best time to end the series, then sure. Marvel movies are hardly good, but they've really been turkeys since Endgame "finished" that whole storyline and killed off the two biggest characters. Last time I checked F&F has a lot of different characters to play around with, and they've done so, and brought in new ones. See how that works the same way? And if it was the "best sendoff" for Paul, who dies, then my comment about Ledger stands as well. Pretending like F&F couldn't go on after him is no different than saying Batman couldn't go on after Heath. Hollywood was (and is) a business. So if franchises continue to make money, they will continue making movies. |

I don't get the Heath reference at all because he most likely wouldn't have been in the next Batman movie even if he didn't die. The 3rd Batman movie was about Bane and not the Joker. Ya and Hollywood is struggling for new ideas. That's why they are doing a bunch of remakes that nobody asked for. |

Hollywood isn't "out" of new ideas. With China being the #1 market now and advertising costs quadrupled, it takes much more revenue to break even and make a profit. So they have to make films they at least guarantee box office. No one goes to see the original films that do get released, then complain there are no original films. So blanket, uninformed statements like "they are struggling" and they are making "movies nobody asked for" is pretty uninformed and silly in itself, if you know the business and what they are dealing with. But you are intent on bashing one yet using the same logistics to defend the exact same thing for other franchises, so there is no argument here. Pick a side and stick with it. |
