Based on the novel The Black-Eyed Blonde, the 1950’s-set film will see private detective Marlowe (Neeson) hired to find the ex-lover of a glamorous heiress. Initially it looks an open and shut case, but Marlowe soon finds himself in the underbelly of Hollywood’s film industry and unwittingly drawn into the crossfire of a legendary Hollywood actress and her subversive, ambitious daughter. I just read up on the novel and wow it is from a booker prize winner for a great legacy. This could be a quality production.

Having just watched The Big Sleep recently, I do wonder how Neeson will differ from Bogart.

Should be interesting to see.

I'd much rather see them adapt an actual Chandler novel such as Lady in the Lake which never got a proper film version, but other than that I'm excited by this announcement.

Neeson was supposed to star in Jordan’s very first film as a director, the underrated Angel (1982). Producer John Boorman wanted him, but Jordan vetoed him in favour of Stephen Rea, thus beginning one of the most fruitful actor/director combinations ever

You know what I mean. These dumb action movies may be fun on occasion, but I'd love to see Neeson ACTING again.

Personally I find that hollywood is lately miscasting a lot of their big projects, and this is certainly not exception. Neeson is a likeable presence, and he did a fine job in schindlers list but I can't imagine him as marlowe, I really can't

I've been seeing almost all of Neeson's action/thriller type films in theaters since Darkman, but have not seen all of his dramatic roles. I was surprised he kept on working as an actor without taking a break for awhile, even during some tragic moments in his life. He's got a ton of films under his belt as an actor.
