Definitely seems low budget but I'll watch it.

Didn't realize this was getting a theatrical release. It's playing in my area this week so I'll try to catch it.

Contender for worst film of the year. You've been warned.

[Show spoiler]The entire film takes place in a warehouse with the vast majority of the 89 minute runtime featuring 4 guys chasing after (hunting) the lone female employee. You've been warned again.

Honestly that makes me a bit more curious.

Although I really thought the film was bad I still think people should see it themselves to determine if they like it. I've got an Unlimited membership so I see a lot of films I normally wouldn't if I were paying full price.

Thanks!
Do not read the following if you may see the film.
[Show spoiler]The main character is a mother that recently split from her husband. He and his friends are the ones "hunting" her in the warehouse.

I can't imagine it will be any worse than Children of the Corn, Skinamarink, and Fear. But I'll be giving it a go on Wednesday.

In Terminator, aren't those flying machines called "Hunter Killer" machines? I think so. Reminds me of the title of this film.

Saw this based on the title/poster alone, and the fact that I have AMC A-List, and it wasn’t at all what I was expecting. It’s basically a home invasion movie set inside a warehouse and a pretty well done one at that. Did a good job efficiently setting up the main character and film’s world before quickly jumping into the action. Was nice to see a non-traditional looking actress cast as the lead and I thought she did a good job selling her resourcefulness and ability to fight back against obviously stronger men. There’s an unnecessary (and rather convenient) character appearance at the end but I wouldn’t describe the ending as a ‘twist’. It’s fairly obvious who’s hunting the main character and shouldn’t really impact your enjoyment of the film.

I hated Skinamarink but don’t feel comfortable comparing it these other films as it’s more experimental than horror IMO. Hunt Her is definitely better than Fear and certainly a better made film than the new Children of the Corn (which I saw immediately after Hunt Her). That said, I thought Children was a trashy good time and it will probably appeal more to average horror fans. Hunt Her also far better than She Came From the Woods.

Out of all of these, I actually liked She Came from the Woods a lot. Didn't love it, I don't think it's a great film...but I really had fun with it and would watch it again in a heartbeat.

I gave Hunt Her a 3/10 and Children a 4/10.

Was pleasantly surprised by this one. The kills were inventive, the single setting kept it running smoothly and the camerawork was honestly very effective

I didn't think this was that bad. There were some funny moments that didn't feel forced and the setting was cool. I liked the one-shot opening and the way the camera would move to keep the main character in the picture. The biggest surprise for me was
[Show spoiler]realizing that there was more than one hunter, since I've never seen the trailer.
My biggest gripe was
[Show spoiler]that they didn't make the villains very distinctive. The guy with the red wig and the leader wearing all black were the only ones I can remember. They could have been a bit more creative with the costumes.
I liked it better than Children of the Corn and She Came from the Woods. Fear was scarier but this was the better movie.

From best to worst for me:

Fear
She Came From the Woods/Children of the Corn
Hunt Her, Kill Her

Unfortunately none of these films were good. M3gan, Devil Conspiracy, Knock at the Cabin were all better horror films that opened this year.

So I actually enjoyed this.

Sure, it's a no-budget film that looks like it was made from a group of friends using a consumer grade DSLR with no lighting or sound work and in their own workplace after-hours...but hey, it was a fun little game of cat & mouse.

My only gripe, and this is coming from someone who loves r*pe revenge movies and extreme horror, is that this film actually just felt misogynistic. It felt gross and dirty, and not in a Last House on the Left kind of way. I get the story is about an
[Show spoiler]abusive partner and a struggle for custody
, but I feel like it somewhat crossed a line.

I liked it much more than Fear and Children of the Corn.

Bunker, Missing, Infinity Pool, Enys Men, and Sick are all better than those too! Multiple levels.
