Default The City: Real and Imagined (Film Forum event running from 5/12 through 6/8)

"One can’t paint New York as it is, but rather as it is felt." -Georgia O'Keeffe (American modernist artist) (1887-1986)-

Just wanted to put this out for anybody residing in the New York City area, in commemorating 100 years of New York City's art and pop culture, the Film Forum in association with the Museum of the City of New York present "The City: Real and Imagined", a series of films and special events celebrating New York City as iconic features from Alexander Mackendrick's film noir "Sweet Smell of Success", Gordon Parks iconic "Shaft", Roman Polanski's horror classic "Rosemary's Baby", Spike Lee's classic "Do The Right Thing", Martin Scorsese's landmark "Taxi Driver", John Carpenter's cult B favorite "Escape From New York", Alfred Hitchcock's taut thriller "Rear Window" and William Friedkin's crime thriller "The French Connection" to name a few will all be showcased on the big screen as part of the Museum of the City of New York's centennial exhibition: "This is New York: 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture":
