Couldn't remember if I purchased this or not, looks like it's in my Xbox and Windows libraries (never played it on Windows though).

I guess the rumor of a collection was off, I wonder how much of the rest of the series will get "reloaded" leading up to the 20th anniversary (and presumably GoW: E-Day)?

Maybe the others will be released later, individually or as a bundle. They’ll probably make more money releasing them one at a time.

Was top 200 in the 06 version and played with most of the pros who did tourneys in UE.... Can't wait to get back on a new version and show the PS boys how toxic this community is

Having all 3 games would have been nice. It’s pointless to just release the first game and not the other 2. It’s like releasing 1 movie out of a trilogy and not release the rest.

If you want the other games to be released, chances are they're looking at sales of the first game's remaster as a barometer to see if it's worth spending the time and money to do the other ones, so you're shooting yourself in the foot.

I wonder why the free upgrade is delivered as a code this time around? Previous games just got upgraded (Killer Instinct) or added the new version to your library (Doom 1&2).

Eh the sales for 2,3 (which was a return to great game status), and judgement combined didn't match the sales Gears1 did....

The balance of 1 far exceeds the others from a multiplayer perspective 2-5 took the skill edge out and dumbed it down.

4 and 5 sold very well though (which is odd cause they weren't great either)

The shit talking in the lobbies before and after matches, and in between rounds (especially when the original first came out) was brutal lol….and sooo much fun. Looking forward to getting another 10,000 kills (almost guaranteed there will be a Seriously trophy). People with fragile egos afraid of playing online need to avoid this one.

Not quite true. Gears 1 sold 6 mil+ (7 if you add the UE sales), Gears 2 sold 5 mil+, Gears 3 sold 3 mil+, and Judgement with 1 mil+. But yes, Gears 1 is the biggest seller in the series

Have to disagree here. Gears 3 had the best balance (2 was better also). The host advantage alone in Gears 1 (which was reduced in later games) was ridiculous lol.

4 and 5 sold very well though (which is odd cause they weren't great either)

The multiplayer is still solid in 4 and 5 (story, not so much). I still jump online and play some matches in 5 from time to time. Almost 20 yrs later and still nothing quite like it.

huh? The shotgun bullet pattern needed like 1000 updates and tweaks over years are evident enough of how bad 2 was from a balance perspective especially at release... It was just easier for newbs/ people who couldn't hang in 1 so they gravitate towards it.

3 was certainly the most polished and a big step up from 2 but the ability to add modded controllers on retro/ hammer burst etc. absolutely killed the balance.

Also the million game types in 2,3 fractured the already smaller player base vs. if it had been TDM, Execution and maybe 1 other game type
