Default My Home Theater: Before and After

I wanted to do something special for my 500th post, so I decided it will go here.

I have confirmed that I will have almost $5,000 to my name this month and have moved ahead with plans for the new sound system.

I will update this post with pictures and detailed specs as I get the new pieces.

It's like this,

Before:
Receiver: Pioneer SX-225 (from 1996)
Fronts: Infinity SR-65 x 2 (from 1996)
Pictures:

After:
Receiver: Pioneer Elite VSX94-TXH (from 2008)
Fronts: Definitive Technology BP7006BLA x2. Bipolar, built in sub!
Center: Definitive Technology CLR2300. Built in sub!
Rears: Klipsch RF62BLA x2.
Sides: Infinity SR65 x2. Former fronts.
Pictures coming soon.

But that would ruin the surprise . A hint though: I got some ideas from one of our moderators.

Before pics should be up by late tonight. Some of the "after" pieces need time to ship.

So tell me about this new subwoofer?

I'm pretty giddy with excitement, it's the SVS 20-39 PC+. All the reviews I have read say that it shook the walls and pictures until they were crooked. All that output combined with extreme accuracy and tightness. It's tough to find any negative responses about the woofer. Check it out here:20-39 PC+

Did I mention that it is linear all the way past 20 Hz in most rooms?

I'll have some after pictures very soon, but the specs are up and ready.

I had to fight with the receiver for several hours just to get it start putting pictures and sound out. As it is, I still don't know what we did to make it work, but now it does, and that's what matters. Still, anything I should know about making sure I get lossless audio when available and how to tell would be appreciated. Thanks to CrackinHedz for the tip about the Pioneer receiver. Once I got it working, it was excellent.

Now, look at those specs, with the 5' tower speakers and top of the line receiver, and tell me that's not a kick-ass sound system!

I've had the 20-39 PC+ for almost 5 years now and I'm totally satisfied with it, I'm sure you will be too.

I do believe you will be "sporting a tremendous woody" once you get it all hooked up.
