Nice, more Paul Schrader on Blu-ray! Good film! Glad to see it is being released by WB so it should be able to be had at an affordable price. Looking forward to it, thanks for the info.

Good news - excellent very early '80's flick with a great soundtrack, and IMHO one of Schrader's best. Glad this is coming out on Blu, since the regular DVD does not look that great on an HD set....

American Gigolo is one of my most wanted movies to be released on blu-ray, along with Looking For Mr. Goodbar.

Would also like to see LFMG released to Blu; excellent '70's flick that really captures that era. This has never even been released to regular DVD yet (at least not R1)...

Wasn't my favorite movie, but I know a lot of people were waiting for this so I'm happy it's finally getting released.

I'd love to see some extra features, but I'm doubtful of anything beyond the original trailer...which is a very good trailer, BTW.

No, that's Jim McBride's underrated Breathless, also with Gere.

American Gigolo is my second favourite Schrader flick. It's fab.

I contemplated importing this time and time again but never did.

Seriously underrated film. Hate the cover but no matter - it will be in my collection. The film is the definition of cool.

Can't wait to get that amazing soundtrack pumping on my HT.

Watched this again last night. Not a bad transfer, but it really deserves a new scan and a UHD. It's such a gorgeous looking film, it really deserves better treatment.

Schrader is one of my favourite directors. This is one of his best works. Per earlier post in thread, was hoping we might have at least of heard something about a new release (preferably on 4K UHD) by now.

Don't think the film quite gets its due for how important it is from a stylistic perspective for certain strands of '80s cinema and beyond.

According to the latest info from Warner, this release has been cancelled. It's possible they just refer to that particular SKU/UPC, and it'll be replaced. Not sure

I wonder if they needed to delay it and possibly bump up the MSRP to a higher price tag with some real bonus features. Maybe Schrader got involved and they are working on a true special edition. I am hoping it was something that happened for the best.

Yeah who knows, maybe it'll get the Diamond Luxe treatment since it is the film's 35th anniversary.

You know me so well. Cat People would be numero trois. Yeah, it's trashy, but artfully so.

Mishima is on a whole other level. Scorsese recently homaged it for that cologne ad he did.

Is this going to be the same as the International release?

Surely Paramount/Warner will be sharing the same transfer as part of their US deal.

I have the Italian edition from Paramount and it looks like hell.

This site has already reviewed it, quite surprised quite a few folks are saying they've been waiting for this when it's been readily available region free for quite some time.
