In response I would have to believe True!!!!
It is no secret that Disney are working on turning some of their older classics 3D and they have already done Beauty & The Beast and they announced that The Lion King would be getting the same treatment.
Lion King is due out on Blu in the fall anyway so why not release the 3D in the pack like they have with other Disney 3D movies.
However they choose to do these I will be picking up because some parts of Beauty And The Beast 3D have already been shown to a few people and their response was amazing!!!

I read last year that a 3D version of BatB was planned.

I will re-buy it yet again even if I may never get a 3D HDTV.

Nice! One thing I wish Disney would do, Is stop with the extra BD disc and just flag a 3D BD disc with whatever code it is so it would also play in a 2D machine too. I was hoping on my 3D Tv for Xmas but Santa couldn't afford it this year, but happily got a new A/V receiver that's all ready for 3-D!
I can't WAIT to be apart of the 3-D generation!

I was afraid to step into the 3D world just because I'm not sure about the steadiness of the technology and I don't want to spend too much for something that might even improve a lot more in a way I will regret.

But seeing these releases are coming up and also all the titles that have been released, I can't wait to buy a 3D TV, luckily i found a sony price on standalone 3DTV (Not coming with promo blu-rays and the player $1,200) to be quite cheap. It won't hurt to use this as a placeholder and enjoy the 3D while waiting for new things to come!

I'm getting the TV next week!!!

I was a little tempted on one of the Mits DLP sets, because of their low price tag and large screen as my " placeholder". Currently I have an older non 3-D ready Samsung DLP, which I just popped in a new bulb and am in love again with it. It was the last model before they starting shipping out their 3-D ready sets.. if only my CRT set lasted 2 months longer! I then started to look deeper into the DLP versions of 3-D TV's and feel that they need to really start making a better chip set that would finally end the wobulation to achieve 1080P and produce full 1080p 3-D instead of it's current half resolution per eye. I also keep wondering if 3-D without glasses will be here much sooner than expected for larger displays.

Congrats on your Sony!! envious!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they do this (include a separate 2D BD) because the 3D version may have black bars on the sides so that the 3D effect isn't ruined. The bars are more noticeable when watching in 2D, and they're not needed unless you're viewing it in 3D.

Question Question About Disney 3D Movie Combo Packs

Hi I do not have a 3DTV Yet but I do have 3D Combopacks from Disney assuming that they release all of the Classics in 3D/2D Combo Packs should I just wait it out and not buy any more Disney Classics and wait for the Diamond Editions 3D/2D Bluray/DVD Combopacks I will eventually get a 3D TV for my Bedroom.

Since Disney all ways does good restorations of classics there is no doubt in my mind that there 3D conversions of at least there classic animated Films will be flawless so should I stop buying Disney Animated Films On Bluray and wait for the Diamond Editions 3D/2D Bluray/DVD Combopacks?

I know Beauty and The Beast is going to be Re-Released in Theaters but it looks like as of now the Lion King is going straight to Bluray 3D will they release all of there classic animated films to Theaters before releasing the 3D Bluray Combopack?

Which Disney 3D titles do you have? I think there are very very few.

Beauty and Beast was just released in a non-3D format, and their upcoming calendar is set, so it seems unlikely they'll re-release it any time soon.

And considering you don't have the required equipment, that also means there's little reason for you to hold off.

Buy the 2D versions, enjoy them for now and give or sell them in 2, 3, 4, or 5 years when the 3D ones trickle out.

edit - word is the rumor on 2d->3d convert for BatB may be real

I read somewhere in the Spanish forum that BATB got a 3D theatrical release in mexico, so the transfer already exists if this is the case

B&TB 3D will be out before the end of the year. Theatrical reissues are up in the air.

Actually, that is a typo. It should be Fall 2011. Lion King will be out in the Fall of this year.
