A24 (via Lionsgate) will be releasing Alex Garland's twisted folk horror film Men on Blu-ray on August 9th. I saw this one in theaters, and it was a very good movie. Great atmosphere, and photography, and a pretty bonkers final act.

I’ll check it out. I really liked Ex Machina and Annihilation so hopefully I’ll like this too.

The weakest of Garland's movies. Might pick it up for under $5.

I didn't mind this one at all. It was genuinely creepy at times and the ending is one of the most shocking I've ever witnessed.

Will pick this up at $15 or so. Both my GF and I weren’t crazy about it at the cinema but we both felt the film was worth another chance. Don’t think it helped that our theater didn’t have the best sound. Wish this was given at least a few late night Dolby Cinema showings as was done for Studio 666 and Black Phone.

I’ll wait to see what the A24 shop does with this one.

I still don’t know what to make of this film and I’m not sure if I even liked it.

I'm a big Garland fan, so I'll check this out, I missed it in theaters.

BTW, the thread title made me laugh. When I quickly glanced at it, it looked like the movie was called ALEX GARLAND'S MEN.

Reminds me of that classic thriller, THE SIEGE AND BRUCE WILLIS:

haha, I was actually just going to name it Men, but that felt a bit off and generic, and since Garland is a recognizable name because of Ex Machina, and Annihilation, I figured it would make more sense to add that than just Men alone. I also didn't want to put Men in quotes because the site has a glitch that hides search results of words with symbols (any non-alphanumeric characters) next to them.

Any word on bonus features? Debating whether to keep my preorder along with the German 4K UHD if the extras vary between the two.

Just watched a quick unboxing from Bluray Dan; Lionsgate is pushing out a DTS-HD 5.1 track for this release, opposed to the inferior VVS release in Canada, which got a Dolby Atmos track. I’m curious to why that is…

1 featurette only included on the release - Rebirth: The Making of ‘Men’. Not sure about the duration of that special feature.

The Canadian BD from VVS Films has the film's Dolby Atmos audio:

The bitrate is around 7 Mbps lower than the Lionsgate, but unfortunately, there is banding in evidence.
