Disc is barebones.

Forget it... when the owning studio can't release it's own... then you either have an Arrow release... or just plain crap.

This is the way of many releases now and in the future.

Shock’s releases have become very skippable for me, sadly. I get that they may have small budgets to work with, but nearly every title they’ve released on Blu lately has had little to no extras.

Arrow is my only hope now for many as yet unreleased titles.

I'd say in terms of extra special features the one to get is the German one... I bought all the released Death Becomes Her home entertainment releases and they all disappointed except this one. Weird cause Shout Factory's was released after this one, yet this German one is much better in every way.

There is an entire gallery with unseen material from Posters, stills and fantastic concept artwork by John Bell... all of these have been cleaned up properly unlike the limited amount of stills on the US release. Sadly they are not in a normal still gallery but have been put in some moving photo gallery but the photos are so rare you can't really complain. I asked John Bell if he made all the artwork on it and he confirmed he did.

8 minute B-Roll with lots of behind the scenes material, not the best quality of course but so cool to see... they only put relevant b rolls on here but there must be more from the many many deleted scenes

4 tv spots

Original Making of

International Trailer

---------------

Still no deleted scenes (Tracey Ullman is on 5 of these stills though) and I know Robert Zemeckis/ Universal is trying to keep a lit on them. You would need an extra disc to put all of them on there. There are more than 25 deleted scenes (many of them being complete full scenes). When the subplot (and ending) with Tracey Ullman's character Toni was removed they went all out, cutting the movie to a much faster paced version.

Scenes from the original cut:

The actual Ernest & Madeline wedding, Ernest does his vows and lifts his bride's veil. It's Madeline and the tw kiss passionately while Mad runs her hand down to his crotch.

Mad telling Rose to work in the evening and threatening Ernest to not get too close with Helen at the party.

Madeline cheating with Dakota during the day much earlier in the film, she panics when she sees one of his pillows has caused a line on her cheek.

Ernest at the bar with Toni while Ernest toasts a comatose drunk next to him.

Rose fixing Madeline's dress before the bookparty while Mad ridicules Ernest who has cut himself shaving.

3 scenes at the bookparty (Jonathan Silverman was in one of these scenes).

As Ernest runs out the room another doctor finds Madeline dead.

Ernest encounters a scary dead priest in the morgue (that's why the nuns were there).

Helen and Ernest at the Beverly Hills hotel as Helen comes up with a burial plan but Ernest freaks out and leaves. Helen gets even more furious with Mad.

Rose finds Madeline stuck in the freezer covered in ice at home the next morning. Ernest rips Madeline from the freezer and they put on a whole act for the maids as if it's a new beauty treatment Mad has been trying. She walks around the house in a weird stiff state... Ernest eventually fires the maids and pulls Mad up the stairs promising her he will make her look better, his masterpiece.

Helen exercising at the hotel where she receives a Death Valley map from a bellhop and she asks him when sundown is.

A hilarious scene with Helen going shopping for the hardware and the clerk implies she has killed someone.

After their fight Madeline gives Helen a glass of water because she is upset and comforts her, but the water goes right through her. Mad promises she will convince Ernedt to help them.

Lisle tells Ernest she is actually 600 years old and she killed Max Factor, Shakespeare and Lincoln because they refused to take the potion.

Lisle's big arrival at the Springparty where she tells a joke to the crowd (Catherine Bell is in this scene as a flower girl).

Ernest waking up at the bottom of the pool seeing the potion vial... intact. Ernest threatens Jim Morrisson they will all be done very soon!

Lisle threatening Helen and Mad to get the potion back or she will bury both of them.

3rd act where Ernest arrives at the bar in James Deans car and shows Toni the potion.

Helen and Mad search for Ernest at the mansion, Ernest panicking not knowing what to do, then the comatose drunk we saw earlier dies in front of them... Toni and Ernest come up with a body switch plan.

Mad and Hel meet in the foyer and see the liquor cart and look at eachother realising where Ernest has gone and run out of the house.

Outside the bar Toni puts on a whole act to the cops while they wheel out 'Ernests' dead body under a sheet... when Mad and Hel arrive in search of the potion... Ernest dressed in the drunk's clothes gives the vial up, throws it at Toni who gives it back to the women. Helen and Mad realise they are stuck together forever smiling to eachother... Ernest and Toni looking at them as the two take off.

SWITZERLAND 27 years later ending with Madeline and Helen sitting on a balcony looking stunning, but bored to death... Mad ridicules an old couple down in the park... Helen looks at the couple with longing... when we see the old couple up close we see it's Toni and Ernest, Ernest covers Toni's old hand with his one young hand. Madeline & Helen stare at them as the movie fades to black their faces turn into skulls for a second.

I do wonder if the deleted scenes will ever become available for Death Becomes Her, I'd also love to see deleted scenes for The Addams Family & Addams Family Values as the trailers have a few scenes not included in the film which look fun.
I suppose its unlikely they will ever see the light of day though.
