Thanks for sharing. I've been wanting those films on Blu-ray but the imports are pricey. The post has since been deleted but here's a screenshot of the announcement from the cached page.

FWIW - insofar as the Amityville movies are a series at all, which legally speaking they aren't (the Lutzes had the sequel rights to the original film and never used them, but numbers were used in titles or promotion for some later ones anyway), I'd argue this is more 4-7.

The Amityville Curse came out between The Evil Escapes and It's About Time but doesn't have any connections, even behind-the-scenes, to the other films; 1-3 were shot at the same location, 4 was written by the screenwriter of 1 and produced by Steve White, Steve White was then involved in 4, About Time, A New Generation and Dollhouse. The Amityville Curse was a completely unrelated independent Canadian film. So it's not like this release or the US equivalent really has a "gap."

Interesting that it looks like all the special features are marked NEW. Some of them line up with supplements from the US releases, some don't. Wonder if even the "duplicates" are actually new interviews.

The Steve White interview should be new for 3 of the 4 films. The interview for Dollhouse is probably the same from US release. I think the Thomas Callaway interview is also from US release. I have to double check my set. The audio commentaries are new. It’s strange though A New Generation doesn’t have the commentary from the US release. My guess is the moderator in the commentary is from Vinegar Syndrome so it’s an exclusive extra feature for their release.

Was this announced prematurely or something?

Possibly. Only Dawn of Discs had the post of it on Facebook and Twitter with no release date. Crossing my fingers that it will be released this year and there will be more extra features than what was posted.

I just hope it's cheap.

Their reputation puts me off somewhat but I do like the original Amityville Horror trilogy.

I wonder if these will use the 4K scans done by Vinegar Syndrome for their boxset release a couple years back.

Hopefully they will confirm in the official announcement. I wonder why the official announcement is taking so long and why Dawn of Discs announced this so early.

I’m wondering the same thing. I messaged Dawn of the Discs about it but they never replied.

Weird we never got good releases of 2 & 3 in the UK. Was always hoping Second Sight would get round to it after releasing the first one.

Reminds me of Halloween II & III. Their treatment on UK home video has been shocking. I'm amazed that a boutique label never snapped them up.

If this release sells well Hopefully Screenbound will release the other sequels including Amityville 2 and 3 on BD.

I have no idea what the UK rights issue is with those. They always seemed to pass from video label to video label in the same packages with Dead Zone, Halloween II/III and King Kong Lives, transfers never keeping pace with current standards.

Which makes it all the more remarkable that Firestarter (1984) got a decent Blu over here. I remember that being bunched up with The Dead Zone on DVD back in the day ; Those De Laurenentiis movies from that era have always been all over the place distribution wise.

I remember importing the UK Sanctuary Entertainment DVDs of Halloween II/III and Amityville II/III because I wanted the commentaries with Stephen Jones and Kim Newman, which have never been carried over to any subsequent release. I no longer own any of them but if I remember correctly, HIII was also in 1.78:1 instead of the proper 2.39:1. The transfer on HII was also garbage lol.
