New Here - Blu-ray Forum

I'm new to this "product wars" thing. What is the benefit of Blu-ray? All I know so far is that it has a larger memory capacity. And I like the box. My fave movie out right now is 300. Gotta love that grain!!

The only downside I see is those black bars. Whats that about? just a few questions I'd like answered. I would love to be able to call myself a blu blood. I just wanna get the facts straight first.

There are a couple good things about blu-ray, but your right, for the most part the boxes are bad @ss.

black bars are because the films are in their original aspect ratio. You see the movie as the director intended. welcome
