France Tokyo-Ga (Wim Wenders) - Carlotta BD

Carlotta Films have released Wim Wenders’ Tokyo-Ga on BD. The 2K restoration (of a 4K OCN scan) was previously released by Curzon UK in their Wenders set, albeit in horrendous quality due to the encode.

The Carlotta was unsurprisingly encoded by David M / FiM, which obviously couldn’t be a bigger improvement.

However for whatever reason, Carlotta only included French audio (5.1 and 2.0) instead of the more common English / German / Japanese track on the Curzon. Wenders’ narration is in French instead of English, the rest should be the original sections (subtitled).

The big other plus is a new English interview with Wenders as a bonus. It runs 43 minutes! This is not on the Curzon set and also references Perfect Days. Wenders fans might have to get the BD for that interview alone.

Can’t wait to dive into everything.
