With how Lionsgate treats their Blu-Ray collection of the film, I'd prefer individual releases from them.

But I am surprised Metropolitan hasn't managed to do a 4K set in France. Their stand-alone Blu-Rays easily outdid the others, imo. (Plus they put out the, imo, far superior Director's Cut of Saw III.)

Sweet. I just bought the first film on UHD and streamed the others for the first time. I really enjoyed them and hope for the other films in 4K. I will have to wait for Saw X to hit disc.

Agree. If ever a series cried out for a steelbook set it's this one.

Assuming the release date ends up being the one Bull Moose has I don't get why a studio would street date a day after Christmas. I mean why not release it a week earlier and try get some Christmas sales. Bull Moose also has Expendables 4 down for the same date.

Deleted scenes - 36:54

Don’t stress… I just finished the special features and the included deleted scenes (compiled personally by Kevin) run 36:54. I’ll also just say without any additional specifics that the blu-ray and 4k for Saw X will contain more special features than any Saw film to date. It’ll be a great disc. No more details until it gets announced though.

Day one for sure. It would’ve been great timing for Saw 2-7 to be on 4K a few weeks ago right before Saw X hits theaters.

gore was such a letdown in this. Valentina's and Diego's were excellent. but chest trap? nothing. gas room? nothing. Aztec mask? nothing. blood board? nothing. x-ray? well.
[Show spoiler]her trap in theory could have been very creative when it comes to the FX but she just had a bit of a burnt looking face. no melting. no skin slippage. no blackened fingers from gangrene. nothing about it screamed radiation specifically.

for the hammer part, Eric's foot gag in III looked 100 times gnarlier tbh.

the gas room should have been mustard gas, a powerful blistering agent but instead we get an unspecified gas and minor burns from it. I was shocked how much they didn't go for it here!!

the eye trap I'm indifferent on but when the finger trap in Spiral exists it's extremely hard to give the FX team props for bending a prosthetic finger back. even the FX for the eye ripping out looked like something out of Jigsaw. it felt very non-gratuitous as it happened too quickly. it felt almost, accessible? they should have built the pressure slowly and lingered on his eyes distending beyond their sockets. and the inky blood lining the tubes looked silly. I know it's a dream sequence but jesus.

as it stands only 2 out of 8 traps have meat to them. 2½ if we're including the brain surgery scene which is a gag we had, and was arguably more graphic in, Saw III. but the chair he's sitting in, the trap itself? nup. he had this EEG looking collar on his head, this plate on his chest, all these wires and it's for the mask to close and be vague? why bother.

IIRC Saw V had all its censorship to the opening and closing traps. same with Saw VI. nothing in the middle acts were touched.

realistically I can 100% see cuts to
[Show spoiler]Valentina's scene (along with her gutting after) and the brain surgery being restored for the unrated cut on Blu-ray later on. and the chest trap in action. hopefully!! I doubt the gas room had anything worse filmed for it and Diego's trap was graphic enough. Gabriela's hands being battered might be lingered on more. so we can see them properly crushed up. if the eye trap has MUCH more distension of his eye that is also lingered on then yes that too.

a trap was built but ultimately not used as Kevin felt it wasn't realistic anyone would beat it? Stabley fought for it to still be part of the scenery though. so you'll see the trap in the background somewhere.

We own the saw franchise on Blu-ray (except for Jigsaw and Spiral), but I haven’t seen any of them from beginning-to-end after Saw IV.

How’s the 4K of SAW? Considering purchasing that one

It's great. If you like the movie the 4K is by far the best presentation it's ever had (or probably will ever have). Def worth the purchase.

Dang, was hoping for a doco akin to what we got on Jigsaw, Spiral and the 4K remaster of Saw 1, but I'm sure these will be solid - Kevin never disappoints.

Wait for the official announcement. This list of features is somewhat outdated.
