Why surprised? It's a contemporary wide release movie. Genuine question.

I watched this tonight and it's a pretty good disc, but I was a little bothered by compression artifacts in many of the dark scenes. Since I really enjoy the film (one of the few I was lucky to see theatrically last year) I think I will get the Black Bear UK release to compare, though I'm sure I will miss the film's excellent Dolby Atmos sound, of which I can hear the TrueHD 7.1 core. Unfortunately, the UK disc has only DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio.

If anyone is interested, this disc seems to be encoded by Deluxe, since their logo plays after the film. I did not check the included Blu-ray, since the featurette (in 1080p) and the commentary are included on the 4K UHD disc. The featurette has optional English SDH and Spanish subtitles, but there are no subtitles for the (English) audio commentary.

I guess it's nice they confirmed the 4K release from the get go, even if it's not coming out with the BD, but this is such a weird release strategy.

Not as yet. Yesterday they erroneously had the front and back covers for the 4K UHD of The Sugarland Express in its place.

The back cover may also surface on Amazon once they list it.
