First time Anime convention - any tips? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey everyone, I’m super excited because this year will be my first time attending Anime Midwest 2024! I can't wait to dive into all the action. I'm especially looking forward to seeing the amazing cosplays, attending panels with voice actors and creators, and shopping for exclusive merch. I've got my eye on some limited-edition collectibles and new manga volumes. I also can't wait to meet fellow fans.

For those who’ve attended before, any tips or must-see recommendations? What should I absolutely not miss? Looking forward to an amazing time and hearing your advice!

Wear deoderant, bring soap UwU

While never been to that convention, but from my experience at the 1 time I went to a convention which was at Anime Expo, get your badge/ticket or whatever they use ahead of time. I wasted about 3 hours waiting in line because I didn’t buy my badge ahead of time. This was back in 2006 so I can’t even imagine how much worse it is now.

Some obvious things like Shower or bathe before going in. Plus some Travel Size Deodorant or at least the Deodorant Body Spray can help too.

If there is a Schedule Guide, grab it so you can know when things start. But don’t wait till the last minute to where you end up bumping into others to try and get to your destination.

Bring a good pen or sharpie with you. The one I used was running low on ink so some Autographs I got then kind of look a bit faded out.

Bring a good amount of money. You’ll need it. But this is also why I haven’t been to a Convention since then.
