Always trying to confirm release dates - especially much older ones - by multiple sources, but this title got past me.
You probably know this isn't the Hitchcock classic, but the 1941 supernatural drama/thriller directed by John Harlow starring Derek Farr and Vera Lindsay. It's also British, and was also titled The Spell of Amy Nugent and Ghost Story, among others. So it was released in '41 in the UK, but didn't arrive stateside until '45. And I'm specifically using North American dates for these threads. Interesting that the US release went with the Spellbound title, and didn't seem to care for confusion w/ the Hitchcock film. Maybe they were leaning into it deliberately? Anyway, humble apologies for the goof and thanks for the feedback! |
