Default Falling Down: Digibook - 5/26/09

There's an ad for this in the new edition of HMM. Sort of an odd choice to get the Digibook treatment, but I'll definitely be getting this film. I'll gladly dump my old dvd flipper.

Will purchase this when it hits $14.99 and not a penny more. Great movie though.

Me too but only if it gets a good BD encode and lossless audio. It better be released on BD50 (30 Mbps average bitrate) with True-HD audio.

Yeah, ...right. While I wouldn't be surprised to see this garner a True HD track, this one is DESTINED for a BD-25 with at least some DNR applied and a "modest" bit rate that could be maxed out.

It's WB we're talking about here.

Well they are going through the trouble of making it a Digibook release, so that should mean something when it comes to the effort that Warner is putting into the transfer.

I've seen some great releases on BD-25's. I'd just wish Warner would start using 24-bit lossless TrueHD - now that is high-definition audio.

I don't understand comments like this

will only pay $14.99 -- and then "great movie though"

IF it's a great movie then why wouldn't you pay at least 20 bucks for it?
I always wait and look for sales as well-- but I have no problem paying
20 bucks (this is the average sale price) on movies that I like a lot...

btw-- not picking on the poster but I see comments like this all the
time-- maybe somebody can shed some light on this?

This is a good popcorn movie. It just might end up being my first digibook.

Yeah, it's pretty irritating. Same about hearing people bi tch about packaging. If you truly enjoy a film you will get it in spite of packaging or price.

Don't tell me how much you like a movie if the case is enough to keep you from getting it. Phonies..

I really like the digibooks & am glad they selected this film to be released as one. The cover looks good enough, only complaint is that it says 'Michael Douglas' on the spine as well.

Stellar performances from Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall! Day one purchase!

My favorite scenes are when Michael Douglas busts up the convienience store and the scene where he practically held the fast food restaurant hostage just because he wanted some breakfast. Classic scenes!

Another film I like getting the Digibook treatment. What a shame. I'll wait for a proper release or import.

Same here. Why can't the studios put out a regular case edition next to their Digibooks?

Just out of curiousity, what's wrong with digibooks? I'm not attacking or anything, but a lot of people on here seem upset with digibooks and I'm curious as to why. Are they not as encoded as well or something? I have the Matrix and it looks and sounds great. Is there something I don't know?
