Was not as huge or successful as Hereditary so that explains no physical UHD release. It will still get a digital 4K but it’s not the same.

September is already breaking my wallet, so I’ll likely be picking this up mid-autumn (Black Friday maybe?). Cover art isn’t bad.

This was easily my favorite film of the year. I went to see it twice, and I can't wait to watch it again at home.

Day one purchase for me, and count me as another hoping the director's cut is included. I've seen the film four times now (twice with Aster in attendance for a Q&A), but really look forward to being able to watch it at home - with the ability to pause and scour the scenes for things that may have passed me by in the theater. Thus far, Midsommar has revealed new things every time I've watched it.

Sad we have to worry about that at all for A24 releases now, though.

This is a great film. One of the best of the year. I can’t wait to see the extended directors cut version. I did feel it could benefit from being extended though so hopefully this has everything essential the filmmaker cut.

Wish there was going to be a physical 4K release, but as long as we get the director's cut I'm good.

I wish they had a version with the white bars available. I get why they removed it for the theatrical presentation, but I'd love to see the film that way.

I walked out of the theater feeling kinda meh on this one. Then couldn't stop thinking about it for like a week. Now I can't wait to watch it again.

It was the director’s intention but was removed due to it being too distracting on the eyes.

I have been wondering if the director's cut restored the white bars or not.

Midsommar is up for pre-order on iTunes in 4K Dolby Vision. My hope is that the Director’s Cut is confirmed for physical, but it may be digital-only.

The unfortunate aspect is the Blu digital code may not redeem the 4K digital file ala High Life, and also not unlock the Director’s Cut.

So, while I didn’t double down on High Life, that might be my purchase strategy for Midsommar.

It's also very possible that the Blu-ray will only contain the director's cut while theatrical is digital only.
