Hi! Have a 5080 that is still getting the hours needed before calibration. There is a guy here in san diego who says he can calibrate the set. I have attached his response to my email....
please let me know if what he is saying sounds right??? Thanks You betcha! The Sencore CP5000 is excellent with plasmas, but you have to know the "magic combo" to enter the Service Menu (I do). The ones I have done resulted in the best picture I've seen so far from a plasma display. Fee: $250 + $15 travel fee (if applicable.) |

There are service menus on the Pioneer sets that you can't get into without the proper codes so that is correct.
The price is about what I'd expect to pay for calibration. Some sets benefit quite a bit though I've heard that the change on the Pioneer sets isn't nearly as dramatic as on some others (which is to say they're pretty damn good right out of the box). Can't comment on his equipment though, sorry. |

The price is in the ball park for a professional calibration job but like Slicker1 said, I would make sure that he is ISF-certified and works for a company that is registered and insured.
Anybody can buy a CP5000. |

go to the avsforum.com and search for d-nice settings.
i have the elite pro1140hd which is one model year older then your set. this link may include hte information for your set. if not, its somewhere else on there. these settings are 99% as good as true ISF calib. and obviously are free. don't waste your money. the guy will come to your house for an hour or two and you'll be 250 bucks poorer. buy some blu-rays with teh money ![]() http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...140hd+settings |

Do not use that link on avs use this one:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=858851 This one actually deals with YOUR set. Also since you have a 5080 and not the 1150 by entering the SM on the 5080 you just voided your warranty. I would use D-Nice's settings first. |
