HDMI Intermittent

Purchased two PS3 40GB and using them as file players (future BD authoring players).
Using HDMI into a SONY GXD-L52H1 LCD display we noticed that at 1080p the HDMI becomes intermittent basically cutting in and out of signal.
We updated both players to 2.10 and used other types of HDMI cables.
Crap we even have this 300 dollar cable to test with.
After a few hours of testing both players, one player became usefull and stuck with 1080p. The other never got back.
When we purchased these players (two days ago), we tested them and they were working fine till this morning. Nothing has chanced since first test (yesterday).
We returned the one PS3 back and exchanged for another. Same result.
In the end, one PS3 is used at 1080p the other only 1080i.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

are you feeding both ps's into the TV, input 1 , input 2, or ....

what happens if you set the ps to 1080p and remove autosync ??

We have two of each. Two PS3 40GBs and two Sony LCDs to test this.
Not sure if Ive never shut-off autosync? Is that in the PS3 settings? Or are you reffering to the LCDs settings?
Ill be testing these displays with my older PS3 60GB (Dec2006) soon.
The LCDs are the only displays with HDMI inputs at work. Each display has a single HDMI input.
Were using these as media players. No BD authoring yet

Well I tested this with my older PS3 and still no good.
Basically the Sony LCDs cant handle 1080p. According to the manual they dont have sync options for HDMI.
Has anyone ever come across a display that claims but doesnt handle 1080p?
The only other HDMI/1080p display I can test these PS3s on is a (2) Panny 103inch monsters (resides in public viewing).
Having a hard time convincing the tall foreheads to let me try "Heavenly Sword" on it

In the PS3 setup you can select the resolutions you want. There is also an "auto detect" option. Do not use that, just select 1080p and nothing else--see what happens.
