The new HBO original series will be executive produced by Drake, along with manager Future the Prince. The ensemble cast includes Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Hunter Schafer, and Storm Reid.

I'm still on the fence about the show. It's a little too dark and explicit for a teen show. Levinson says it's largely based on his life, which I can believe with him being the son of a famous director. But, still. The show is pretty well-crafted overall. And, I like that Zendaya finally gets to stretch out her acting chops, but I could do with a little less narration (I hope the whole show isn't like that). I also like the idea of her character potentially being queer. I'll tune in for the next episode.

Really enjoyed last night's episode.

Loved how the music pretty much never let up throughout the whole carnival, and just how relentless that whole sequence was--we barely get a chance to take a breath through the whole thing because we keep bouncing around from character to character, and the music reflected that really well.

Also some cinematography that I loved was

[Show spoiler]the shot of Jules riding her bike in the woods to go meet "Tyler," and of course the bed spinning kiss at the end

Liked the first episode. Have LOVED the rest. The carnival episode was amazing. I am definitely obsessed with this show. No huge surprise as the creator made one of my favorite movies from last year, Assassination Nation. I love the character of Jules. I'm interested in most of the main characters though honestly the main character, Rue, is probably the least interesting of them.

This series is basically The Rules Of Attraction in high school.

I wish this were on Blu-ray now so I could buy it. Hopefully they won't take too long to release it. I don't usually buy TV series right away anymore but I will be with this.
