From TheDigitalBits today:

"...we’ve learned from industry sources that Walt Disney’s original animated Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) is coming to 4K Ultra HD later in the year!

Like Cinderella, we suspect that it will likely first be released on the Disney Movie Club as part of the studio’s 100th anniversary celebration, then it will go into wide retail release before the end of the year.

We’ll post more information on this as it comes in, particularly if any kind of official news breaks from the studio."

Relegated to Disney Movie Club when the Live Action remake is coming next year? Kind of an odd choice. You'd think they'd hold off and release it with that.

Just for a few months. It will get a wide releases later on.

Good to know this is coming before the year ends, now THIS is a movie that also needed it; it was watchable, not as awful as Cinderella's, but it was also a DNR mess. I'll be more than happy to see all kinds of details on the drawings and backgrounds.

Sucks, again, that its a DMC thing, but hopefully it'll release outside of the US just like Cinderella. Now, we wait..

I can’t wait to pick this up along with Cinderella. I just hope the retail release comes with a slip. I’m not expecting the same DMC slip just a slip in general.

Hope Alice and Peter Pan follows this year.

I'd expect the wide releases will have a slipcover that's the same as DMC just without the mention of DVD because the DVDs will likely be exclusive to the DMC sets

Lol, why didn't they just release this last year instead of that 85th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray?

Hopefully Pinocchio follows. That and Snow White are still my favourite Disney Classics.

I already have the dvd along with every other Disney release. Just need the 4K

There can't be just Snow White and Cinderella getting 4K UHDs this year for Walt-era representation, can there? If this is slated for late 2023, what about anything in between?

One thing concerns me, though. I've been Frankensteining my Blu-Ray of Snow White with the Signature Edition disc, the Diamond Edition bonus disc, and both Platinum Edition DVDs in a staked case. Where could I put the 4K disc on top of all that?

Just get a proper 6 or 7 disc case.

Platinum Editon - 2 DVDs

Diamond - 2 BDs

Signature - 1 BD (though you can probably just leave this one out)

4K - 1 UHD + likely remastered BD

Disney has always released two Walt's film per year. Only in 2019 we got many of them because they wanted to get as many out as they can before Disney+ launched.
