Hello everyone,
The Blu-ray.com team would like to inform all members and contributors how to select the studio/distributor when adding a new title/profile or updating an existing one. Given that the film industry constantly evolves -- many labels merge, new sublabels are created, old studios are renamed, etc -- we would like to follow the same format ISBN logging does. There are different reasons why, but some of the most important ones are consistency and the ability to retain legacy info. What this means is that the studio/distributor that is entered in the database must be the party releasing the product (Blu-ray/DVD) as of the day/date it enters the market. For example, if Echo Bridge is releasing a Miramax produced film on February 1, the film/release profile should have Echo Bridge as the studio/distributor. Sublabels/offshoots shouldn't be broken either. For example, From Beyond, which is part of Scream Factory's horror series, should appear under Shout Factory. The decision to have in the profile the studio/distributor releasing the title as of the day it enters the market was made so that our members as well as our team (reviewers/contributors) can easily identify it. This should also help us avoid the incorrect information large retailers, such as Amazon, often list before and after release date. Thank you for contributing to the database and making Blu-ray.com the best and most complete site for everything Blu-ray on the Internet ![]() Pro-B Last edited by pro-bassoonist; 01-28-2013 at 09:02 PM. |

Could you guys add The Madonna Store to studios and store exclusives pulldowns?
http://www.madonna-store.com/index.p...te=common/home ACTUALLY...add The Madonna Store to store exclusives but add Martigen to studios. Thanks! Is this where these requests belong? It's been so long since I have used the forums for these purposes... Last edited by 4000dvds2many; 04-21-2015 at 01:23 AM. |

We had a discussion pop up in the Kino Lorber Studio Classics thread last night, and I think we need some clarification, since there were conflicting examples mentioned.

Could the distributor Media Movies & More be added?
I can't find much on them, but they're the distributor on a Bruce Lee double feature I have and am trying to add. http://www.imdb.com/company/co0217808/ http://www.manta.com/ic/mt6wqk2/ca/m...s-and-more-ltd The DVD: https://www.amazon.com/Bruce-Lee-Chi.../dp/B00005UQ6Y Edit: Just saw the site improvements thread suggestion above and will post there. |

The rule that the distributor should be listed instead of the producing studio is confusing. In that case why is 20th Century Fox listed instead of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment? 20th Century Fox is a producer, not a distributor.
In Sweden Fox has now taken over distributing Warner titles but still under Warner trademark with the actual discs being manufactured under WarnerBros Home Entertainment trademark. Either the producing/releasing studio names are the same or they need to be separated and listed both under correct names. |

Please add Hex Media. They're an independent film studio out of the United Kingdom and they do their own releases.
They just started distributing their 3rd film, The Black Gloves. The other two are already on this site but without the studio infilled. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Lord-...lu-ray/147531/ https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-U...lu-ray/169757/ |
