Default The Alan Parsons Project - I Robot • Dolby Atmos Deluxe

The Alan Parsons Project - I Robot • Dolby Atmos Blu-ray

With Stereo remaster too (format to be determined) :

The Alan Parsons Project second studio album in a Super Deluxe Edition Box Set. Featuring 4 CDs, a Blu-ray, 2 LP audiophile pressings, a hardcover book, and a replica press folder. The album draws conceptually on author Isaac Asimov’s science fiction Robot stories, exploring themes regarding artificial intelligence.

The 4CDs contain a stereo remaster of the original album by Miles Showell plus 70 bonus tracks (47 previously unreleased) from studio out-takes

The Blu-ray features stunning Dolby Atmos and 5.1 Surround Sound mixes by Alan Parsons from the original multi-track master tapes along with the new stereo HD remaster of the album by Miles Showell. The Blu-ray also contains the restored I Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You promotional video and interview footage of Eric Woolfson discussing the album.

45rpm 180gm heavyweight vinyl 2LP in a gatefold sleeve contains a half speed remaster by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.

Fully illustrated 12” x 12” hardback casebound book featuring interviews with Alan Parsons, the Woolfson family and the musicians/lead vocalists as well as full lyrics and commentary on the bonus tracks. Replica original press folder containing a giant A1 sized poster, reproduction of original biographies, press photo, press letter and promotional postcard.

I won't get the deluxe set, but if the trend follows, I'll definitely get the singular Blu-ray release. That only leaves "Eve" of the earlier albums, which I'm sure they will get to. I'd happily buy "Vulture Culture", "Stereotomy", and "Gaudi", as well, if ever released in multi-channel.

Why do they think people who are into vinyl are into multichannel and vice versa?

My brother is and I assume others are, so it isn't a totally incorrect assumption.

However, it isn't that uncommon to start out with a release that has more bells and whistles then most want just to entice those with the liquid cash and that are less concerned about cost and more about getting it right away. Then later offer the bare bones editions for us that are more selective and cost sensitive.

My favourite Alan Parsons Project album so I've been waiting for this one! Even so...I'll be waiting for the Blu Ray only version.

Now if only they could re-issue Eye in the Sky.

The overbloated sets I am interested in never seem to end up in a slimmed down version, except for CDs.
