I'm still REALLY pissed that we still have to go through the freaking phone app for voice chat. I was hoping this would be fixed when their service rolled out. Has Nintendo ever provided any explanation as to why they've set it up this way? There's no reason why this feature cannot be supported natively through the system itself. It just seems like one huge unforced error on Nintendo's part.

Apparently it has to do with mobile being a much bigger thing in Japan than it is here. NCL thinks that people will love the app, without putting in much thought about how the rest of the world would react to it.

I think it just disables the ability to launch the game until you connect to the internet again, then it resets the 7 day timer.

Hey I'm hoping Metroid Prime 4 has support for online multiplayer. Plus Smash Bros too.

Also, since it requires a CC or PayPal, I can only buy the service at the US rate. Last edited by heyadol; 09-19-2018 at 04:13 AM. |

I downloaded both the Famicom and NES versions. As long as you have one Nintendo Online account, you can download both Japanese from the Japan eshop and the Engish from the non-Japanese eshops (US, EU, Australia, etc)
Some of the games are exactly the same, but some like Mario 3 have some difficulty differences and games like Zelda are in their respective languages. |

But as long as you sign up for Nintendo Switch Online from any region, you are able to download the Famicom and NES without any extra charge. |

Is $20 really that hard to come by?
Gold points can be used for Online membership however they can’t be used to auto renew. https://mynintendonews.com/2018/09/1...-online-plans/ Last edited by dyne; 09-17-2018 at 11:07 PM. |

I'm pissed that you can't individually buy the NES games. I don't want to be limited to an online "service". I want to be able to buy and download them like any other e-shop game, regardless of whether or not I opt to sign up for the service.
The only thing making me consider signing up is the cloud save back up feature, and even that annoys me because it will be limited to certain games, and it is already asinine that we can't back up our saves to the micro SD card. I'm still otherwise a Nintendo fan and in most respects I think the Switch is probably their best system since the SNES. But it would be nice if they could just release a good system with good features without "Nintendoing" it all up. |
