Price Point - The Stopper

I don't know about how many of you on this forum especially don't actually have blu-rays, but I was about to buy one then I needed to spend money elsewhere so I had to delay things.

Anyways now that I have the money again the major thing stopping me from my purchase is pricing of players. I had no problem contemplating and almost buying a PS3 or Blu-Ray when 5 free discs were offered by mail and for the 40gb PS3 one in the box. However, now those promotions are gone and done and none in current site to replace them. Including it seems the Spiderman 3 inclusion with the 40gb model of the PS3 as non-Spidey models take over stores in my area.

So I was just sitting around wondering how many people have qualms with the pricing of players at the moment given there is nothing added to the package its just the player? Or have qualms about purchasing because the only BD Live capable player on the market is the PS3 (to my knowledge) and although it is one of the cheaper players (40gb model) it is still sitting at over four Benjamins after tax?
