Default Hate Messy Wires? Bad Room Config? Buy a Yamaha YSP-4000 Soundbar

I did a lot of research and even considered the BOSE 3-2-1 Series 2 but everthing kept pointing to the YAMAHA YSP-4000. If you don't have the space, hate messy speaker wires or have a bad room configuration (like myself), then the YSP-4000 is for you. The sound bar relies on forty or so tiny satelite speakers to send out sound. When you first set up the soundbar you will be asked to put a microphone in your favorite sitting position and leave the room and believe me leave the room. If you have cats put them away as the soundbar will send out a sereis of pitches, or tones if you will, in an attempt to set the sound bar to your room dimensions. I have impressed so many people with the dynamic sound demo. To have a realistic surround sound from just this soundbar is amazing...I elected to add my own base as the base in the soundbar is a little subpar for my liking...REasearch is showing that people hear sounds in many different ways after you listen to the YAMAHA I think you too will be impressed at not only what your hearing but how your hearing it. Good Luck and hope my input helps...

If your room is large or with an irregular shape, it may not work so well. We tried one out for a few days and ended up returning it. I think these work best in small rooms with walls to bounce things off.

Can it be ceiling mounted? This may be a good bed-room option, but placing it by the television etc. is gonna cause the Bed and other items in the room to block the sound.

This would certainly be a good bare-bones bedroom setup.

It's not too bad, especially for what it does. My center channel speaker cost about twice that....so I guess it's all subjective.

I also recommend any of the Soundmatters line.

http://www.soundmatters.com/

I use the FullStage HD in my theater, and it works well.

I bought the Polk Audio "Surround Bar." It's not as technically cool as the Yamaha speaker, but it's co$t is very reasonable and it sounds great with my set-up (I'm in an apartment.) Just my two-cents. YAAAAHH!!! YAAAAHH!!! On to the next town!!
