and now my Gamestop Experience

I posted a thread about my experience on the PS3 weekend launch at EB Games a few weeks back.

So I go to my local Gamestop last night after work to stack up on some PS3/PS2 goodies. I ask 1 of the 4 employees behind the counter if they had any PS3's in stock and automatically get a dirty look from all 4 !!!

They reply NO and he explains to me why I'm better off just getting a Nintendo Wii or Xbox 360 because nobody wants the PS3 anymore. Sony is dead....WTF? Right.....he then continues to babble about the week before, how custsomers "poured" in their store to check out the Wii and when they would ask if the console was in stock, he would tell them "they're SOLD OUT but we do have a PS3" and according to him, the customers would refuse them. LMAO!!!! Total BS!! It's funny how the clerk told me that "nobody wants a PS3" yet they were sold out when I wanted one....hmm??"

I told him I don't give a sh** about Microsoft and they I've out-ground Nintendo. After a few more bitter arguements, I left the store with a copy of Resistence, Need for Speed Carbon, MI:3, Ice age 2, & Superman on bluray!!

I think I'll just stick to Best Buy or Target for my videogame / Bluray purchases from now on.

Sold out. That say's a lot. I must agree too. I've already had one bad experience with gamestop. I asked too if they had a PS3 and the employee gave me a dirty look. These workers have something up their ass. Could be a Nintendo or Xbox controller. I don't know.

I sounds like they are trying to kill the PS3 because there are too many people not buying any consoles and waiting, therefore EB/Gamestop will not make their sales target.

They're just pushing their sales. Obviously, they won't meet sales quotas if they don't have any stock to sell. But really, it should never be taken to that extreme. It's totally unprofessional to push your own personal bias on people in a retail environment.

I have had the same problem at Gamestop/Ebgames. If you have not opened the product return. Send the company a email and buy your stuff somewhere else. You can get all of the items you bought at BB, CC heck even Target. I hate the fact the works at these places bash the product you are trying to buy. If they do not want to make a sale then don't reward them for being jerks. You spent about what 180-200 dollars. They do not deserve a customer like you. I almost spent the same amount until a employee ticked me off. Just let EB/Gamestop become XboxRus and buy from someone that deserves you hard earned cash.

I have had nothing but good experiences with Gamestop/EB Games where I live (Philadelphia area). As they say... YMMV

Exactly how I feel so I e-mailed Gamestop/EBGames and complained:

"To whom it may concern,

I just wanted to express my disappointment with both of your EBGames (Tarrytown Road, NY) and Game Stop (Central Ave Yonkers, NY) stores. Never have I been so appalled with a purchase. I have been very interested in purchasing the Sony Playstation 3 since it’s launched on November 17th. Perfectly aware of the extremely short supply, I have been patiently asking retail stores for its availability. When I go to your stores, I get the same ill-fated totally unprofessional response from your employees as they try to sheer away my interest in it. This same situation has happened to me twice and because of it and I have no intention in returning to your stores. I understand if this is just a move to try and sell as many consoles as possible before the end of the holiday season, however, when it’s caused by favoritism, as it clearly was, towards a specific console it is not acceptable.
