I only love Scarface because of the cinematography, but The Thing is in my opinion the better movie
DePalma always knew how to do those long one take shots which are excellent to watch.

Though while I do really like it, I feel over the last 10 years that The Thing is starting to cross a bit into the overrated category. I'd still put Halloween and Assault on Precinct 13 ahead of it, just for Carpenter films.
