Exclamation Daylight Savings Time: 24 Hours until we move the clocks 1 hour ahead March 9th 2008

In 24 Hours it will be 3:00am EST rather then 2:00am (we lose an hour).

And it doesn't do any good anyways. The sun pretty much takes care of itself.

Some studies are coming out showing that daylight savings time actually wastes more energy, so go figure. This relic from the Carter administration really should go away IMO.

The farmers are going to be out doing what they need to do based on the light in the sky, regardless of what the clock says. I live in the north. Without daylights savings time, I'd still see sunlight until almost 9pm in the summer time. With daylight savings, it goes until damn near 10.

Most people are using more lights in the morning instead of the evenings anyways, so at best, it's a needless wash and excercise.

We should just do what Benjamin Franklin actually proposed... Firing cannons down the streets to wake people up early!

I love it too, but the day length remains the same, one way or t'other - sleep time just gets shuffled such that there is more light in the evening hours.

......................but you probably knew that.

I love it. Bring on the long days, especially as the days get warmer. I wouldn't be opposed to DST year round though .

i agree...we should just get rid of it all together...like previously mentioned, the farmers still do their work based on day light not what the clock says..and i dont believe that mumbo jumbo about it saving energy...just let it alone and the time gradually changes each day....nature takes care of itself

I love DST, I'm sort of a late person, so I don't notice as much when the sun comes up later in the morning, but love that I can actually come home and the sun will be out...and I'm not getting out of work in the dark everyday.

its so depressing during the winter going to work in the dark and getting home in the dark, and never really getting to enjoy the little sunlight that ohio gets

note: UK and Europe will come 3 weeks later. the forum's time will be rather strange.... as in Facebook (I thought I was late for lecture the first time the US applies that new DST rule, because I was looking at facebook's time)

as quoted from Homer Simpson "This is the first time I've been early for work! Except for all those daylight savings days. Lousy farmers."

I live in AZ, I don't have to do anything. Apparently, Phoenix is the center of the universe.
