I live in europe but I track the lastest bd releases here but one of the online shopps I use to get my blu films have in the last weeks added more and more Universal films.

So looks like things happening.

So fare the films I have seen is these:

U571
Bruce Almighty

so mabye I will get the film I am waiting for on blu soon "The Thing (1982)".

Carpenter's movie would be sweet if the transfer is good....My experience with older transfers hasn't shown them to be that much better than the SD releases however....

Not to mention it was an HD-DVD release as well. If it does come out in Blu, I wouldn't expect much more than a port over from that transfer.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but those films are distibuted by Universal in the US and not overseas. Bruce Almighty is distributed by Buena Vista and U-571 by EiV in Europe.

Haven't U571 and Bruce Almighty been out in Europe for a while now?

Looking at Amazon, U-571 was been out since September 2007, and Bruce Almighty has been out since August 2007.

Quite correct... same for "Children of men", it is out on Scandinavia on Blu-Ray already. Don't panic, their titles will come when they have tooled up to produce them. Give them some time... we want them to be done properly.

At first you should visit IMDB and click on the company credits link on the left hand side to know which Studio has the distribution rights on various geographies.

The review for The Thing on the dud at HDDigest was very good. I believe it was 4.5 stars. Nothing wrong with that if thats what Universal gives us. I'm sure they will do it right when we finally get it. It's on my shopping list.
