I hate to say this.....but I'm looking forward to seeing this. Will hold me over until The Meg arrives in August.

I revisited the original film a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. Always thought this was one of the better shark movies of recent times but it keeps getting better with each viewing. Better as in more fun, I know this isn't Shakespeare or anything lol. A sequel? I'll rent it first but only expecting a cheap cash-in.

I was gonna guess this was a title-only cash-in, like Open Water 2 was. But the trailer is on youtube and it really looks like a sequel. Trailer also looked better than expected after I saw SyFy mentioned on imdb. Definitely won't be the fun ride the first was, but does look watchable. I'll blind buy if $10 in store.

Same here. $10 max, which shouldn't be too long of a wait. I might even hold out 'til BF or the end of summer liquidation on beach movies that often comes not long before, assuming Wally world or someone doesn't have a good deal during the summer itself. The trailer definitely gives me a lot more hope for the film than it's cover, which is a little too Sharknado and that ilk.

It doesn't look like a sequel at all to me, just a really cheap remake/rip off.

That is kind of what I expect for a low budget sequel to a big budget film. Similar settings, similar plot, similar characters: More gore, more tits!

I prefer this sort of sequel over unrelated bullshit like Open Water 2, Jason Goes to Hell or Hellraiser 4, where the title is changed to make it a sequel (and maybe throw in a shot or 2 of a character like Pinhead), but was really it's own thing until some dumb**** thought it would make a good "sequel".
